Match Report

In our first ever match, we were held to a pulsating 3-3 draw against team Hall X. Even though we took a early lead, we were forced to come back from behind twice to grab a share of the spoils.

Angriff first ever goal was scored by kenny, through a fast taken free kick by Teck Kuan, who caught the defence flat footed(and even me, mind you). Kenny was given ample time and space to guide the free kick home near the penalty spot. And that started the goal rush. With the deadlock broken, the opponents begun to assualt our goal. Antimony was alert to claw the ball away from his far post from a long shot. Despite all his effort, our defence was breached through a uncharacteristic error. Ok, it was an error, but i forgot how it was scored.
-Fastforward-

We were 1-2 down, and we needed a response. Teck Kuan, who was a maestro in midfield, blast a long shot against the woodwork, you can clearly see the relief on the opponent face then, but the relief was short-lived. During the break, a brilliant tactical move was executed. For confidential reason, it will not be listed here, so too bad for those of you who didnt attend. The move pay dividends early in the second period of the game, it lead to a brilliant move on the left between Teck Kuan and Antimony, the latter send a dangerous low cross into the box which send the opposition defence panicking. In their haste, the ball was deflected twice, and with kenny boring down on goal, the defender was pressurized into putting the ball into his own net. 2-2

With the score and 2-2, we smelt blood. We continued to lay a barrage of attacks against the opponent. First the gk parried a long shot into Teck Loon path, and his subsequent chip sailed slightly over the goalpost, a loud sigh could be heard from the opposition stand. A superb long shot by Kenny soon after hit the left side of the crossbar, and surely the crowd think, its a matter of time before we were to take a lead.

But if football was so simple, many people would not had lost so much money in the bookmaker hands. Hall X grabbed the lead once again, 2-3. Lesser men would had give up there and then. But not Angriff F.C. In the 85th minute, from a long throw(not unlike Rory Delap), Alex was there to stab the ball home after he missed the 1st effort. The goal send the fans elated. He had no reason to be there, but he was, and the piece of tactical indisicpline was enough to send the rest of the away crowd satisfied, as they make the long journey back from Pasir Ris.
